Jack Fruit ’15

Bhoomija’s signature event of music for and by children, comes back this summer with a grand line-up of music. The event at MLR Convention Centre, JP Nagar, is scheduled for Fri, Apr 24 and Sat, Apr 25 ’15. Three exciting concerts are lined up for the two days. Tickets are available on bookmyshow.com and at the venue on the days of the shows. “We are supremely excited to present some scorching young talent at Jack Fruit this year too, our second year for this unique fest. Apart from children performing, we have virtuosos Jayanthi and Kumaresh present a story-based scintillating show for children, in which they play specifically for children. They are joined by Giridhar Udupa and Pramath Kiran, with Virginia Rodrigues weaving a beautiful, entertaining narrative that will hold children’s attention”, says Gayathri Krishna, the Managing Trustee of Bhoomija.

A Jugalbandi by children, perhaps a first of it’s kind will be presented by Suleiman (12, Amritsar, student of Hariprasad Chaurasia) and Vaibhav Ramani (17, Bangalore, student of Kumaresh). They will be accompanied by Jagmitra Lingade (12, Aurangabad, student of Suresh Talwalkar) and Ramana Bala (12, Bangalore, student of Ranganatha Chakravarty). The taala-vaadya ensemble this time will have 11 children under 15 playing 13 instruments, under the baton of rhythm veterans of the city — Giridhar Udupa and Jayachandra Rao.
